2020 Woodberry ShirazThe Woodberry is our newly released flagship Shiraz. Expressing the very best of the Clare Valley; hand made, time honoured with long term cellaring in mind. Region: Clare Valley. Variety: Shiraz 100%. Colour: Brick red in colour with bright crimson hues. Nose: Ripe plums, red fruits, licorice, and cedar oak tones dominate the nose. Palate: Densely layered with a long finish, the palate combines dark chocolate, black olive, a hint of truffle, and fine
and a hint of savoury meats flood the nose
Cellaring: Will age beautiful
Drained through a membrane press with some light pressings returned to provide additional flavour
underlying leafy nuances
Vintage: 2015
Vineyards: Despite losing much of the Clare Valley’s precious Grenache resources back in the 1980s during the government-sponsored vine pull scheme
and oak char in a complex and lingering finish
a variety that has become a real star of the Clare Valley’s portfolio due to the region's cooler ripening temperatures and elevated topography
Winemaking: A blend of two Clare Valley vineyards: one in the Armagh district and the other in Sevenhill
had arrived in Penwortham in the early 1860’s
