Afghan ErsariAfghan Ersari rugs belong to the Ersari tribe in Afghanistan. Characterized by their own carpet motifs and designs. These tribal designs are best known for the fil poior elephants foot shapes which are a large octagonal gul now described as Bukhara patterns. Within these patterns there is a lot of variety.
Often woven in the Shah Abbasi or the Islimi style (or a combination of the two)
which are knotted from high-quality natural silk but are much more affordable than their Persian counterparts
Warp and weft weaving results in distinctive geometric and linear patterns and small spaces when the fibers are pulled apart
Gabbeh carpets were traditionally used as a sleeping rug
