Strawberry Carved Laser Sapphire, Titanium Strawberry SapphireThese are strawberries carved from titanium laser sapphire. These labgrown sapphires have bubbles in them from the growth process we call this variety 'strawberry sapphires' since they have seeds, hence the carvings. These are great little curiosities that could be made into beautiful jewelry. Titanium sapphire is a very unusual variety of sapphire, never found in nature. Because even a few parts per million of iron will interact with titanium ions

This material was custom grown for us in an attempt to make an ultra-bright cerium yag formulation

only when looking close with direct point lighting

and a well cut stone might show flashes of all of them in the right mix of lights

These laser alexandrites are fantasy cut with some concave facets

brought to you by Turtle's Hoard

and with a hardness of 8

This is a deep purple-black laser garnet (Dusk YAG) which I have cut into a custom shadow crystal design

Together they give the stone a striking yellow to amber color which shifts between more orange and more yellow from light source to light source

It also likes to heat up during prepolish so dop and cut with care

though it would be great in a pendant or earrings

They also show a striking yellow and pink fluorescence

but not phosphoresce (because they want to know where a patient's bones are now
