Benjamin Leroux, Meursault Charmes DessusThere is a touch of matchstick character to the spicy aromas of various white orchard fruit scents that are trimmed in wisps of petrol, fennel and soft wood. There is excellent intensity to the caressing and lightly mineral infused flavors that exhibit very fine length on the lemony and austere finish where the only reproach to speak of is a touch of warmth. This too is lovely and age worthy.

An intensely perfumed bouquet evokes ripe red/blue fruits

The visit was capped off by previews of the 2004 Cristal and the as-yet-unreleased Cristal Rose

They harvested the grapes quite late looking for noble rot in early December (but they only got a very small percentage)

Once again the mouthfeel of the delicious flavors is plush and round with similar finishing length and rusticity though not quite the same complexity

powerful and rugged medium full flavors that culminate in a dusty

Subtle hints of wood toast are present on the cool and overtly floral-inflected aromas of red berries

All the elements are in the right place in this perfumed

discreet wood and soft earth
