This tightly wound effort is a middle weight in the context of the appellation yet it is an absolute knockout in every respect and particularly in terms of its perfect balance
but they do possess a finer texture and a refreshing salinity on the sneaky long finale
As one would fully expect
This isn’t quite as structured as the Chevalier
(aged in new oak barriques for 42 months)
There is excellent volume and an intense minerality to the relatively forward and lush broad-shouldered flavors that coat the palate with dry extract before culminating in an explosive balanced and strikingly long finish
88% Cabernet Sauvignon
The nose of this nascent beauty was locked up tight for the first few minutes
This was aged in French oak for about 18 months
(from vines planted in 1955)
This too is really quite impressive
