SOLD...........A small Georgian souvenir box. The Marine Pavilion. Brighton. c1800A small, Georgian slide lidded box with a print of the Brighton Marine Pavilion built for the Prince of Wales by Henry Holland before the Nash alterations in 1815. The white wood box has a pink label under the old varnish titled The Pavilion Brighton'. There is some simple black flecking around the top and around the print. In good condition the varnished finish is the original and so does show wear in places. The inside is lined in the old pink paper

Inside there are four rounded sections containing eight blue steel knitting needles with gold spiraling

The inner frame 5 x 3

One of them has three fins so the straw could be cut into narrow strips and the other four (the fifth fin damaged through repeated use) Buckinghamshire

c 1800-1820The original silk ribbon was shredded so has been replaced with pink silk ribbon which has been ink stamped in inches

a number 7 and sterling

The patterned paper is in red

The ribbon ties are missing

An unusual set of five small reels the tops carved from two types of pearl -white and shades of blue and green

All four are decoratively turned on a lathe and have original beaded spangles
