Brookite with Quartz

Brookite with QuartzThis is a very attractive thumbnail specimen featuring a pair of sharp, gemmy bladed Brookite crystals with rich reddish orange hues measuring up to 1. 0 cm sitting aesthetically on matrix. Smaller associated Brookites and scattered Quartz crystals can be seen on the front display side of the specimen. I really love the fact that the two main Brookites are separate and distinctive yet still growing side by side. The piece is in great condition, though

the fact that only one mine ever produced transparent Cassiterite is remarkable

and good sized for the material

had a stake in this mine in the late 1970’s / early 1980’s and was able to acquire some superb and interesting specimens

and just look at how sharp

it’s a cool oddity that would make a nice addition to a Bolivian suite

crystallized Pyrites from this locality are among the best from Colorado and highly sought after by collectors
