Felton Road, Pinot Noir Calvert(from a 2001 planting on deep silt soil that's not too different from Felton Road's Block 3; vinified with 22% whole clusters), Healthy medium red. Slightly darker and less open to inspection than the Bannockburn Pinot; more brooding on the nose but still more red fruit than black, with attractive floral spicy lift. A rather tight, youthfully compact wine with a strong element of spicy underbrush and modest sweetness to its dark raspberry and

This is quite good in its understated fashion

There is excellent richness to the cool and equally pure medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent focus on the explosively long finish

a blend of 69% Tempranillo

then a further 6 months before bottling without fining or filtration

I would further note that this is less austere than is typical for a young Corton and as such it could probably be approached after only 7 to 8 years

This should be excellent in time

with results that appear silky and almost glossy

Cool start to the season and then a warm harvest

Beautifully ripe and intense

There is good volume and mid-palate density to the mouth coating and mineral-inflected flavors that possess fine balance and length
