Pousse d'Or, Volnay Clos 60 OuvreesVery ripe but agreeably fresh aromas include those of backed plum, anise, clove, violet, lavender and an interesting hint of sandalwood. The sleeker and more refined medium bodied flavors flash more evident minerality though decidedly less power and muscle on the super saline infused finish. This is classy, harmonious and a wine that should reward a decade plus of cellaring.

A very deft application of wood easily allows the vaguely exotic aromas of petrol

the wood influence is much more discrete than has sometimes been the case with Giraud's wines
