Bitouzet Prieur, Meursault Perrieres Blanc

Bitouzet Prieur, Meursault Perrieres Blanc(from 30+ year old vines). Once again there is a plethora of floral influences to the lemon lime, mineral reduction and passion fruit scents. The intense, overtly stony and penetrating middle weight flavors display first rate persistence on the very firm finale. This is already lovely and if it develops better depth with time in bottle it could well achieve the upper end of my projected range. In sum, this is a classic Perrires.

Even so among the three wines from the Côte de Beaune in the range this displays the least amount of dryness

mainly thanks to the larger contribution of Sémillon at one-third of the blend

this cool growing site north of Montalcino village performs very nicely in the hot vintages such as this

The nose speaks primarily of plum and floral aromas that are in keeping with the sappy

hail and bombe d'acqua

Note that this should reward mid-term cellaring and indeed it will need a minimum of 5 years and 6 to 10 would almost certainly be better

It is a tour de force

Shows less body than the 2008 Paje Vecchie Vigne but boasts outstanding potential
