Morning Fire

Morning Fire"Morning Fire" is a shot of Rams Island Ledge Light Station at sunrise. When the sun pierced the horizon it literally burst the sky into an orange flame creating such a bright light that everything in the foreground seems to burn away into a black ashy silhouette. This shot was taken with a 400mm lens so that the lighthouse, which is relatively far away, would seem large next to the sun as it rises in the distance but also to capture all the color in

We ran across these two Parrotfish at Molokini Crater here on Maui

We loved the anemone in this image

Imagine being on the back of a jet ski at the world famous surf spot Jaws

Many of you met us or at least have seen us under the Banyan Tree in Lahaina

We used a really slow shutter speed in order to create the milky effect in the water which kind of mirrors the clouds which helped add to the calming

When you take photography underwater you have to choose if you are going to shoot wide angle or macro because you can not change your set up once your diving

So we've learned that the trick is to be ultra patient and wait for animals to initiate an interaction

It ended up being one of our favorite images from a week of shooting in that same spot

Thankfully we were strapped to the helicopter because there were no doors and we were standing outside on the skis as we dipped down low in between waves and then quickly bounced up and over the huge waves
