Each is shaped by hand into an abstracted avian form with a rounded body, elongated neck, and quietly expressive profile. The surface is worked through esgrafiado a technique in which patterns are incised directly into the clay, emerging through subtraction rather than paint. Finished in deep tonal browns and blacks, the carved decoration reveals
