Antique Art Nouveau 1916 Sterling Silver Glass Jewellery BoxArt Nouveau facetted jewellery box. The lid of the box features nouveau scroll and wreath designs. The 'Anchor, Lion and letter R' markings indicate the piece was made from sterling silver and hallmarked in Birmingham England in 1916. The makers stamp is visible alongside the hallmarks ''J&C'. The box is beautiful and compact, it would be the perfect container for small items of jewellery. In the 1910's it would have sat on a ladies dressing table,
