SiauracThe 2005 Siaurac is such a pleasant surprise. At fifteen years of age, it is at a gorgeous plateau of maturity. Cedar, tobacco, dried black cherry and worn in leather are the signatures of a wine with a fair bit of bottle age, and yet the 2005 clearly has enough freshness to drink well for another decade. There is a bit of angularity in the tannin, perhaps because of the extraction and or cooperage, but I am willing to look past that because the wine

weight and punch along with solid power and mid-palate concentration that adds to the appeal of the beautifully long and mouth coating finish

Generous wood is sufficiently prominent to all but overshadow the very ripe aromas of mocha

and mulberry

The flavors are more compact as well though the dense but fine-grained tannins are wellbuffered and this will probably age along roughly the same curve as that of its stable mate

peppery red fruits and a bushel of garrigue is what you will find on the nose and palate

Finishing exquisitely perfumed
