He favored this fig after eating it on one of his frequent trips to France, brought a plant home, and planted it at his farm in Monticello. It is a yellow skinned, honey flavored fig with a superior fruit quality and good rain resistance. White Marseilles can endure humid climates reasonably well, and is a good candidate for a South Florida garden.
