The pocket size varies between the totes, but all are large enough for a phone. Each tote measures 12 x 13 and has two sturdy 25" cotton twill straps (so it hangs 12. 5 below the shoulder). I am obsessed with collecting block printed cotton, and these bags are the perfect way for me
