Caroline Morey, Chassagne Montrachet Rouge(from Les Chnes and Les Chambres). Subtle but not imperceptible wood and menthol elements set off the peppery and sauvage inflected red currant scents. Once again the mouthfeel of the delicious flavors is plush and round with similar finishing length and rusticity though not quite the same complexity.

This too is admirably dense with good detail and minerality to the focused medium-bodied flavors that deliver fine power and punch on the balanced and lengthy finish that is youthfully austere and mildly rustic

The 2004 Barolo Brunate is approaching an early plateau of maturity

long and moderately firmer finale

This is a big but not really austere BM and should be approachable after only 7 to 8 years if your preference is for younger wines

Massive and decadent on the palate

This is aromatically more elegant and a bit cooler as well though it is still notably ripe with its array of essence of red cherry

kumquat and lemon zest with an emerging core of honey-drizzled white peach

Lovely juice and especially so for its level

This is a big wine where the abundant dry extract presently largely hides the firm core of supporting tannins but make no mistake

A background application of wood is sufficiently subtle to allow the notably spicy and ripe yet quite cool aromas of both red and black pinot fruit
