SOLD.......A pair of silver Spaniel handled scissors. c 1840An unusual pair of scissors with silver handles in the form of Spaniels sitting on square rather than the more usual round finger rings. English c 1840. There are no silver marks or cutler's marks but the handles are silver. 8. 5cm long Span of the finger rings 4cm In excellent condition no damage or repair and just light tarnish to the steel blades.. The hinged lid is engraved silver with a gold wash finish

The tops and bases are 3cm in diameter and they are 3

A Spa Ware thread winder painted with flowers-a different one on each side

There is a small indented mark on the rim of one which may be a Continental silver mark but it is unreadable

It is engraved-

In good condition- the original varnish has been removed and the piece refinished

The silver is embossed but unmarked which would suggest a date pre-1890
