EtherealThis is a special image , for a number of reasons. It's of the incredibly beautiful Naseby cemetery, established during the Otago gold rush. Many sad stories on the headstones. The other thing that makes this image special (and sad actually) is that the background trees have since been logged. So barely a tree remains on the perimeter of this historic site. This shot can never be gotten again. The size is A2 580 x 420

As I flew over the stand of trees  the row of poplar trees and leaves on the ground completely luminated even though it was getting dark

I'm particularly happy with the way the shadows almost mirrors the dark sky but enough evening light separates the two

Hence the title 'save the last dance for me '
