This beautiful box has two part which seperate, the inside of the piece is silver gilt on the bottom half. The top half of the pot is hallmarked with a lion and the letter 'W', indicated the piece was hallmarked in 1946. The bottom of the pot is hallmarked C. W, 'S', Anchor, Lion, W, indicating the piece was hallmarked in Birmingham 1946 by the makers C. W. This silver box would be
