Antique Victorian mourning ring, initial D, onyx and Diamond, 9ct goldA gorgeous antique, late Victorian era mourning ring. This is an initial ring with an applied silver letter D, lightly engraved in gothic script and set with Diamond chips, set on a rich black onyx panel. The ring has decorative shaped shoulders and a slim smooth polished band. This style was popular towards the end of the 19th century and through the Edwardian era. It is marked 9ct on the band. Late Victorian era, English make. Condition: Good used

It has a large sterling silver spring ring attached ready for attaching your favourite locket or pendant and it has a nice longer length

The band is stamped 18ct and tests as 18ct and plat

It is fully hallmarked for 18ct gold

The snake ring was catapulted into popularity when Queen Victoria received a snake ring from her beloved Albert

They are joined by an antique 9ct gold heart shaped padlock clasp which is fully hallmarked for Birmingham

one of the pearls has lost its nacre and is translucent in tone

The pendant is attached to an early Victorian Pinchbeck Albert or watch chain with a wheat curb link and a gold plated dog clip either end

E light scratches on the panels

the fleur-de-lis is encased by a black enamel shield
