SOLD…………….A French mother of pearl needle case with gold shield. Palais Royal c 1800.A mother of pearl case for needles with a gilt band and gold shield insert. The piece is in good condition no damage. NB. There are some marks on the back which are partly a natural flaw in the shell but also where the inside has been cut rather too close to the surface which shows as an outline on the outside. The front and inner sleeve are fine. 6. 7 cm long ( just over 2. 5 inches ) 14 mm width Stock no. KC11

It is cleverly carved to retain the purple colour at the top using the white part of the shell as the background

It is unmarked but the suspension ring is stamped 800

A silver mechanical pencil with a spiral patterned barrel

A little cut glass scent bottle of flattened oval shape which will stand upright

A sterling silver case sprung loaded to take sovereigns

The interior is lined with a raspberry coloured paper which is the original and typical of the period

In excellent condition - no damage and the gilding is bright
