Chateau Marsannay, Clos Vougeot

Chateau Marsannay, Clos Vougeot(from a . 21 ha parcel of 100+ year old vines in Quartier des Marei Haut). A beautifully layered and unusually elegant nose presents notes of red and dark currant, spice, discreet wood and soft earth. The elegance of the nose is enhanced by the relatively refined texture of the medium weight flavors that are at once succulent but punchy, all wrapped in a youthfully austere finale. This needs more depth but its certainly an elegant Clos de Vougeot.

The 2000 Barolo Percristina has held up well

This should probably be drunk up sooner than later

lilac and violet nuances

but it is swathed in copious tobacco-drenched black fruit and a superb line of acidity

The 2016 Berliquet has quite a high-toned bouquet that gradually gains more composure with aeration
