Antique Edwardian Bloodstone Silver NecklaceAntique Edwardian (1901 1914) pendant featuring a faceted bloodstone. The bloodstone is set with two faceted silver caps, strung on a silver chain. The stone sits inside the chain. Bloodstone is the mineral 'Heliotrope' (from the Greek, Sun to turn'), it is a variety of chalcedony with red inclusions of hematite. MEASUREMENT The necklace measures 46. 5cm 18. 3" in length. The pendant measures 2. 4cm 0. 9" in length and 1. 1cm 0. 4" in height.

The hallmarks on this piece indicate it was made by Henry Griffith & Sons LTD a Birmingham

stamped '925'

along side the makers mark 'W' 'L'

unfortunately there at 7 stones missing from the brooch although mostly go unnoticed

The pearls are enclosed in a delicately crimped setting

The bull has detailed etched marks around its head and a smooth body

These earrings are in very good vintage condition

A very unusual fun piece for the charm or pig collector

The brooch has a long safety chain to protect the wearer from losing the brooch

This mark was used mainly on pieces which were designed by well known head designer Alfred Philippe
