'Victoria Jubilee' base metal brass alloy thimble. Iles design c1888.A brass alloy thimble commemorating 50 years after Queen Victoria's coronation in 1838. It is stamped 'Victoria Jubilee' with a little crown in between. It's by Iles and has their logo of three little thimbles in a shield shape. In excellent condition no damage but it is made from a light weight base metal which will tarnish although it looks like gold. 2. 5cm high Finger aperture 14mm Stock no. G23

The chape and prongs are made of unmarked silver too

In good condition and of a good weight

The gilt metal catch works well and the leather 'hinge' is sound

It is hall marked for Birmingham 1794

There is a fourth which may have been the date letter but it is obscured

A thickly carved mother of pearl stiletto made in two parts

The silver has no hall marks but it tests to sterling silver

A little glass scent bottle with gilt decoration in the form of zigzags and wavy lines

This example has the usual wriggle work decoration of the period and a facetted rim
