Domaine William Fevre, Chablis Montee Tonnerre(from two . 5 ha parcels divided between Pied dAloup, Cte de Brchain and the rest from Chapelot). The cool and restrained nose is mostly comprised by notes of mineral reduction though there are background nuances of iodine, pear and white flowers in evidence. I very much like the power and intensity to the concentrated yet refined medium weight flavors that display evident minerality on the beautifully textured if slightly short finish that is ever so

Impressively concentrated but surprisingly lively thanks to its spine of smoky minerality

tar and cigars plus a hint of cardamom

with 30% new oak

it delivers a good core of black fruit on the palate

There is a hint of green in the finish

powerful and inviting

but the style of the wine did not thrill me

it’s not refined though neither is it overtly rustic either

Wafting from the glass with aromas of dark cherries

Here too there is just a background hint of wood that does not intrude upon the wonderfully refined aromas that are airy
