Ramonet, Chassagne Montrachet Rouge

Ramonet, Chassagne Montrachet RougeA cool, pure and peppery earth inflected combination reflects notes of primarily red berries with just a hint of dark currant. The round yet nicely detailed middle weight flavors are not especially dense, but I like the depth on the ever so mildly austere finale that flashes a touch of warmth. This manages to avoid the usual Chassagne rouge rusticity and is a wine that could easily be enjoyed young if thats your preference.

There is enough reduction to dominate the fruit though it clearly seems ripe

Otherwise there is once again fine richness to the round and plump flavors that possess a bit more volume if much less evident minerality on the already beautifully complex finale
