A Moorcroft Vase in the Finches Design by Sally TuffinA vintage Moorcroft vase in the Finches design by Sally Tuffin. The height is 104mm. The Finches design on a blue ground was introduced in 1988. From 1990 Moorcroft started to introduce symbols i. e. year cyphers on the base of their pottery to show when an item was actually made. As there is no year cypher on this vase the age can reasonably be assessed as 1988 to 1989 and hence a genuine vintage piece. Sally Tuffin was already a recognised designer
This cup was presented as the 1746 Sudbury Prize to George Donston (1723 - 1784)
