Francois Lamarche, Clos Vougeot(from 3 different parcels, one at the bottom and two at the top but on opposite sides). A fresh, cool and perfumed nose of mostly red currant and cherry is liberally laced with notes of earth, underbrush and oak nuances. There is a very forward, even lush palate impression to the bigger, richer and more powerful flavors that also possess fine mid palate concentration though not necessarily better persistence. This too will need a few years of cellar

I doubt that the silky quality will last as I expect that this will shut down fairly hard for a few years before blossoming in a decade

It’s an excellent wine in a year that keeps on delivering right through the palate and hangs on for more

Interestingly given the style of the vintage this isn’t quite a big and robust as it usually is which should permit it to be approachable after only 6 to 8 years yet it has the stuffing to effortlessly develop over 15 to 18

delicious and very pinot flavors yet the finish is intensely earthy and serious

but Chiara and Giorgio Boschis clearly brought out all the best the vineyard had to give
