Description
A small Tunbridge Ware pot. c 1850A little rosewood pot decorated with a roundel of inlaid Tunbridge Ware. The lid unscrews to reveal space for a few beads. A useful size as it would easily fit into a compartment in a sewing box tray. c1850. Just under 3cm in diameter 1. 5cm high In excellent condition no cracks, losses or filler. Stock no. LH23
The silver is marked with a French silver mark- a hare's head which dates it to 1819-1838
It is stamped CH for Charles Horner
The locking mechanisms aren't as tight as they would have been originally so the ink wells are not secure enough to fill with ink and hope to avoid spills
There is also a silver double ended spoon
This silver example dates to circa 1850 and would have been a souvenir
The back is plain rosewood
A rare find- a chatelaine which would have been worn by a nurse
