A Tunbridge Ware thread winder. English. c1850-1860A wooden thread winder made up of a mosaic of different native woods of a type known as Tunbridge Ware. Mid 19th century c1850 4. 5cm in diameter 3mm thick In excellent condition no damage or repair. Stock no. LE31b

The scissors are the same date-typical of the style of the period with close plated silver finger rings

5cm square space and its height is 2mm under 4cm

10 cm ( 4 inches ) from the side of one lens to the other

It dates to circa 1820-1830 and would have been part of a set in a leather etui

The blade looks a little shorter than it should be and reshaped but the spring is still good

3cm in diameter (1 +1/10th inch)

There is a brass hanging loop and the original tan coloured cord ending in tassels

The handle is made up of a string of the very tiny beads too
