A French silver thimble from an etui. c1870A decorative silver thimble with a French silver mark of a boar's head. c1870. The narrow decorative band of leaf like scrolls is executed on a vertically lined ground and would have matched other sewing tools in a set. 2cm high with a flattish top and a decorative rim. In excellent condition no needle holes. Stock no. B2

In excellent condition- no damage or repair to the thimble or the case

Inside there is some cloth stuck with a few old needles

A decorative porcelain thimble with Derby mark in red for Stevenson & Hancock and a further x mark

Diameter of top and base 3cm

The case is stamped in gold 'Patent'

It is in good condition and-as it has a steel core- is free from holes

There is some simple black flecking around the top and around the print
