(21A) Tillotson HW-33A Idle Mixture ScrewThe Tillotson HW 33A idle mixture screw controls the fuel air mixture at idle and low speed operation on the HW 33A carburetor. Turning the screw clockwise leans the idle mixture; counterclockwise richens it. Proper idle mixture setting ensures smooth idle, clean off idle transition, and consistent low speed behavior. The idle mixture screw tip (needle point) can become worn, bent, or damaged from repeated adjustment or over tightening into its seat.
