SOLD…….A finely carved vegetable ivory thimble and matching case. c 1850A carved vegetable ivory acorn shaped thimble case and its thimble. The honey coloured material is a tagua nut from the South American ivory nut palm which can be carved and turned when new but hardens over time. c1850 Both the thimble and case are in excellent condition.
