Dick, Age 13, Crosshill School, Circa Mid-19th Century, Framed, 26-3/8" X 27-1/4"Linen sampler worked in silk thread by Maggie C. Dick at Crosshill School, age 13, likely European, circa mid 19th century. The sampler features multiple alphabet and numeral rows, floral sprigs, a central crowned castle, and reclining stags. Signed with the makers initials and name. Housed in a dark wood frame with gilt liner; note some modern hardware has been added to the back for stability.
It features the smiling face and bust of a clown with handpainted details
