SOLD…….A late 17th century silver thimble. Maker AP conjoined.A rare late 17th century silver thimble with a band of leaves and the maker's initials AP. It has been well used and has signs of restoration a silver repair to holes in the apex and repairs to splits in the rim. It is a substantial piece not flimsy. Height 2cm Finger aperture 12mm Stock no. KY01
The lid is fitted with glass which sandwiches a wax
A silver bodkin case
It is stamped on the barrel 'John Sheldon 1086 Feb 8 1842'
There is no damage to the glass
I suspect they would all have looked the same originally and the pattern has worn off through use
10 cm ( 4 inches ) from the side of one lens to the other
They are tin plate with printed features and movable doors
They are embossed with a rose in the centre
There is a fixed red velvet pin cushion
The threader is 8 cm long
The original black painted line runs through the middle of it still
a pair of small steel scissors and a steel stiletto
