Description
SOLD……Two items-a pearl topped emery and matching tape measure. Sewing. c 1850A mother of pearl topped tape measure and matching emery from a Victorian sewing box c 1850. The pale blue silk ribbon in the tape is a replacement and has been left unmarked. The emery is all original. The barrels are made of domestic animal bone the black flecking in the material being indicative of bone. 2. 5 cm high 1 inch Bases measure 2 cm in diameter ( 0. 75 inch ) Tops measure 2. 5 cm in diameter ( 1 inch ) In excellent condition no damage.
The strawberry coloured woven silk has faded to a strawberry pink but the green silk has kept its colour
The pattern is an unusual one being 'blind filigree' ie
The finger ring and flower spike are the originals
seal and letter opener plus a pair of ink wells
despite its size
1 inch at its widest
A Tartan Ware needle case decorated in a tartan patterned paper titled Prince Charles in gold on black and then varnished
* All the pearl pieces listed KA45- KA49 came as a group
There are some letters squeezed into the end of the bobbin but I haven't been able to read them

An unusual table clamp made of plated copper
In very good condition retaining most of the original gilding to the pressed brass
