SOLD……A steel bodkin stamped Davis Studley. Early 19thcA small steel bodkin stamped 'Davis Studley' on one side and 'Needle Manufacturer' on the other. An unusual piece probably given away with a purchase of needles in the 1830 1840s. Studley is a town in Warwickshire with a history of needle making. 5. 5cm long. In excellent condition. Stock no. It is stamped under the handle with the maker's initials T&P ( Taylor  & Perry )

A French silver thimble commemorating the end of the First World War

The stems are patinated brass and the bases mutton bone as can be seen by the black marks in the material indicative of domestic animal bone

The slightly oval handle is carved with diagonals and has a short neck

There is a natural flaw in the pearl on the back (see photo)

There are two small holes which indicate it would have been suspended on a cord from the waist originally
