A pocket knife with engraved silver spring cover. c1870A pearl pocket penknife with a steel blade marked JO and stamped with a small crown. The maker is uncertain as the only cutler a google search came up with is Joseph Jonas a Sheffield cutler and later Lord Mayor of Sheffield. He joined Robert Colver and by 1878 the firm was known as Jonas & Colver. A nice feature is the silver stepped and cross hatched spring cover identical to those found on datable silver bladed folding fruit knives which would date

It is hand hammered with flowers and has a wavy rim

There are some small pressure marks on the plain surface of the handle but no damage
