NairacThe 2007 Chateau Nairac is a little pinched on the nose, which is surprising considering the growing season. There are pure honey, guava and quince scents wanting to spring forth, but it does not quite happen and I suspect a couple of hours decanting would awaken those aromas. The palate is well balanced with pointed acidity. There is plenty of fresh citrus fruit here interwoven with orange rind and a touch of barley sugar that lend it real Barsac

cherry compote and floral pastille aromas are complemented by notes of Asian spices

from selected plots (including 6% Cabernet Sauvignon) within Vega Sicilia’s estate

There is no need to age this wine any longer

This has a terrific kernel of fruit and a three-dimensional palate feel

indeed the word Zen describes the gorgeously well-balanced finish

trying to polish the tannins and keep the juiciness and avoid excessive tannins

Linear and persistent on the finish
