This stone is a large, impressive, Portuguese Oval cut gem with remarkable eye clean clarity and a gorgeous light pink color face up. When the stone is viewed along the girdle on its side or even underneath through the culet, you can see that there is a mixture of beautiful orange and pink tones, creating a very pleasing peach

The gentle color is caused by minor amounts of iron oxide

These crystals are not quite blue

This creates a dazzling effect and allows a gem like Quartz - which doesn't have a terribly high refractive index - to really sparkle in even moderate lighting

They are highly prized for their rarity and beauty

and the piece is nearly crystallized all the way around

Along with the amazingly sharp faces

but the back and base are contacted where the piece separated from the pocket wall
