Jean-Claude Bachelet, Bienvenues Batard Montrachet(from a tiny . 0942 ha parcel). Exceptionally pretty aromas of honeysuckle, acacia blossom and lilac combine with those of lemon lime, spice and pear. The notably finer if significantly less powerful medium bodied flavors possess a caressing but punchy mouthfeel while flashing focused power on the gorgeously long finish where the only nit is a hint of warmth. This is also potentially stunning and very classy.

While this classy and stylish effort should reward at least a decade of bottle age it should also be approachable after only 6 to 8

The flavors are dark and plodding

This needs to develop more depth but if it does this could well be outstanding in time

Time in the glass brings out hints of chamomile

It's a wine that spends two winters in barrel

with significant power at the back that is partially fueled by the wine's well-integrated alcohol (recorded at 15%)

firmly but not aggressively dry and overtly stony finale

I had not become blase about these elixirs
